His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, was gifted a unit of the Aurus Senat Limousine. The announcement was made by the King’s official Facebook page, following His Majesty’s visit to Russia’s Automotive Technology Development Centre (NAMI) last year.
Aurus serves as the official vehicle brand for Russia’s top leadership and is frequently used by TYT Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, in official events. With the handover of the new unit, the King joins a very exclusive group of individuals outside Russia to own an Aurus Senat, with another notable recipient being North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un, who was also gifted one.
The Aurus Senat serves as the highest offering from NAMI. In its base form, the car measures very similarly to the Rolls-Royce Phantom, but slightly smaller at 5,632 mm in length, 2,020 mm in width, 1,689 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,300 mm. The car can also be had as a long-wheelbase model, which extends the wheelbase to 3,800 mm and the length to 6,130 mm. Adding to its stately duties, the car can also be optioned with ballistic protection, in this case, fit for a king.
As for what’s powering the absolute unit of a car, underneath the bonnet sits a 4.4-litre V8 hybrid powertrain that boasts a combined system output of 598 hp and 880 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission, allowing for a century sprint in just 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h.

The handover ceremony was held at the Special Garage Museum in Moscow, where an assembly of over 50 units of cars and motorcycles were also shown. During the King’s entrance, His Majesty was greeted by First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Kirill Alekseevich Lysogorsky, Director of the Museum, Belikov AV, and Chief Executive Officer of NAMI, Nazarov FL.
The new limousine will add to his existing collection of exotic cruisers, including Rolls-Royce Phantom VI, Mercedes-Benz 600 and a Honqi L5 — the latter making His Majesty the world’s first owner outside of China.
The Johor royal family is also well known for its passion for automobiles. His Royal Highness Major General Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim, for instance, possesses an impressive collection that includes the Bugatti Mistral, Aston Martin Valhalla, Ford GT, Koenigsegg Jesko, and many more exotic models.
