All-new Mercedes-Benz CLA set for Malaysia debut on Jan 15

The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA will be making its local debut on January 15, 2026, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced on its Facebook page. The announcement also came attached with a link to a webpage, where interested customers can sign up to get up close with the model in public viewing sessions, held at the Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar showroom until January 18, 2026.

The third-generation CLA was unveiled globally in early 2025 with two fully electric variants on offer at launch: Mercedes-Benz CLA250+ with EQ Technology and the Mercedes-Benz CLA350 4Matic with EQ Technology. It remains unclear which variant will be featured for the Malaysian market.

Physically larger than its predecessor, the all-new CLA features a front grille adorned with 142 LEDs in the shape of the three-pointed star. This same pattern is present in the headlight signature, which now includes a new full-width daytime-running light element. The CLA also gains flush door handles that aid the sleek aerodynamic profile, contributing to a low drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd. At the rear, there is a full-width taillight setup that integrates that same quirky star motif.

Inside, the dashboard is dominated by a pillar-to-pillar MBUX Superscreen setup. This setup comprises a 10.25-inch segment for the driver, a 14-inch central display, and an optional 14-inch display for the front passenger.

Built on the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), the CLA250+ features a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 272 hp (200 kW) and 335 Nm. This setup enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h.

The CLA350 4Matic adds a front-mounted electric motor for an all-wheel drive configuration. This boosts the total output to 354 hp (260 kW) and 515 Nm. Consequently, the century sprint is shortened to 4.9 seconds, though it reaches the same 210 km/h top speed as its sibling.

Both variants are equipped with the same 85 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery pack. This allows for a range of 792 km (WLTP) on the CLA250+ and 771 km (WLTP) on the CLA350 4Matic.

As the first production Mercedes-Benz to feature an 800V architecture, the CLA supports DC charging at up to 320 kW. This allows the car to regain over 300 km of range with a 10-minute charging session. AC charging is supported at 11 kW for both variants.
