2025 Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic Night Series launched in Malaysia – blacked out details, from RM2.4m

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has given the Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic a darker treatment with the launch of a new Night Series variant. Priced at RM2,404,888 on the road and without insurance, this new addition serves as an alternative for those who live by the saying “always bet on black”… or those who want an alternative to the Rolls-Royce Black Badge models.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Night Series will continue to be offered in a range of exterior colours, including various grey, black, and white hues. Exclusive to the Night Series are new two-tone finishes, such as Onyx Black paired with Mojave Silver, and White Bright combined with Obsidian Black.

Befitting its name, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Night Series is finished with a dark, shadow-gloss treatment applied to key exterior elements. These include the grille trims, front bumper trim, Mercedes star, door handles, Maybach emblems, longitudinal and panel trim strips, as well as the window surrounds.

Peek closer to the Digital Light headlight assembly, and you’ll see that it features rose gold elements with dark metallic chrome accents. The car can be had with blacked-out 20-inch iconic Monoblock wheels, or seven-spoke light-alloy wheels in black and dark shadow gloss, plus integrated aerodynamic elements tastefully covered in Maybach logos.

Completing the look, the tailpipes are also finished in dark chrome and black. Even the vehicle key receives the Night Series treatment, coming in high-gloss black with a dark shadow gloss trim frame.

Moving inside, the most notable addition to the Night Series is its Nappa leather upholstery in Black and Black Pearl with a mother-of-pearl effect and golden-grey glossy piping. Complementing this is dark brown open-pore walnut wood Manufaktur trim in a distinctive herringbone pattern.

Additional touches include centre air vent housings in dark shadow gloss at both the front and rear, seamlessly tying the design together and reinforcing the Night Series’ identity. Living up to its “Black labels and backlights” motto, the cabin and exterior take on a more mysterious, almost clandestine presence.

On the technology front, the Maybach S-Class comes equipped with the brand’s signature luxury features, including dual 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, a wireless smartphone charger, and reclining rear seats for added comfort. Rear passengers are further treated to two 11.6-inch entertainment screens, complemented by an additional seven-inch Android tablet for system control.

The Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine paired with a 48V EQ Boost mild-hybrid system, contributing an additional 23 hp and 205 Nm for a combined output of 503 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to all four wheels through Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, mated to a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. This setup enables the luxury sedan to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

The Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic Night Series is priced from RM2,404,888 on the road and without insurance. If you want to customise this blacked-out ultra-luxury cruiser further, you can still do so via the Mercedes-Maybach Malaysia website.
