2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC350e Coupe arrives in Malaysia, replaces GLC300 Coupe – from RM426k

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is having a busy day with the launch of not one, not two, but five new models. We’ll have individual posts for each of these cars linked below as they come in, so be sure to keep an eye out for those. But for now, we’ll be focusing on the new Mercedes-Benz GLC350e 4MATIC Coupe.

Like the C350e and the GLC350e, the new locally assembled (CKD) Mercedes-Benz GLC350e Coupe will be replacing the existing Mercedes-Benz GLC300 Coupe in the Malaysian line-up. Priced at RM425,888 on-the-road without insurance, it comes with a four-year/unlimited mileage warranty and an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty.

To keep things simple, we’ll refer to it as ‘the Coupe’ from now on—its distinctive silhouette is the most striking difference between it and the Mercedes-Benz GLC350e. Beyond that, the specifications are virtually identical.

The most striking difference between the Coupe and the GLC350e is its distinctive profile. The Coupe features a sleeker rear end, giving it a sportier presence on the road. Like the standard GLC350e, to accommodate the hybrid powertrain, the trunk space is slightly smaller, measuring 399 liters due to the raised floor required for the battery pack.

Under the hood, the Coupe shares its powertrain with the regular GLC350e SUV. A 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 204 hp and 320 Nm, while an integrated starter-generator (ISG) adds another 136 hp and 440 Nm. This combination results in a total output of 313 hp and 550 Nm.

Paired with a 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox, the Mercedes-Benz GLC350e Coupe reaches 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h. Power is sent to all four wheels via the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. Thanks to its 31.2 kWh battery pack, the Coupe boasts a pure electric range of over 100 km according to the WLTP test cycle. Like its SUV sibling, the Coupe supports 11 kW AC charging, allowing for a full charge in roughly two hours.
