Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has earned itself a place in the Malaysia Book of Records, with the gathering of 370 Golfs at the 2024 Golf Fan Fest last weekend held at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.
The event attracted nearly 2,000 Golf owners and enthusiasts from across Malaysia and Singapore, gathering at the circuit to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Volkswagen Golf.
As part of the festivities, the company has also unveiled the limited edition Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 at the event, with only 50 units available in Malaysia. Fully assembled in Pekan, the anniversary model features unique exclusive touches both inside and out, including an Oettinger body kit, new 18-inch wheels, upgraded interior features, as well as the ’50’ emblem littered all throughout the vehicle.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 is priced from RM267,990 here in Malaysia, and includes the Volkswagen Assurance Package which includes a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, five years of free maintenance, and five years of roadside assistance. More information here on our launch coverage.
Aside from the special Edition 50 display, attendees to the event were also treated to a whole range of exciting activities, including a gymkhana driving challenge, Golf R drift taxi rides, track sessions, model car races, as well as Golf ownership workshops.
Participants were also treated to a unique display showcasing the evolution of the Golf GTI spanning over five decades, while the “country’s biggest Golf fan” was also “awarded” in the event.
