Following its Indonesian launch in July, the BYD M6 7-seater electric vehicle (EV) is set for a debut in Thailand. Singapore has also announced plans to introduce the model, with pre-orders currently being accepted.
According to AutoLifeThailand, BYD Thailand plans to launch the M6 EV MPV in Thailand on September 9. Similar to its Indonesian introduction, the Thai-spec M6 will be available in both six- and seven-seater configurations.

The dimensions of the M6 closely resemble those of the Toyota Innova Zenix, measuring 4,710 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and underpinned by a 2,800 mm wheelbase. The Innova Zenix measures slightly larger at 4,760 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and is underpinned by a 2,850 mm wheelbase.
The M6 utilizes the same electric motor found in the BYD Atto 3, delivering 204 hp, and a century sprint time of 8.6 seconds. It utilizes a 71.8 kWh battery pack, enabling an extended range of up to 530 km. The M6 supports up to 115-kW DC fast charging and 7-kW AC charging. With DC charging, charging from 10% to 80% state of charge (SoC) takes approximately 40 minutes.

Safety-wise, the M6 comes with six airbags, stability control, and a door opening warning. It also includes advanced driver assistance such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, blind spot monitoring, and automatic high beams.
BYD Thailand has recently completed a new manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 150,000 units in Rayong. While the plant currently produces the Dolphin EV, future plans include the production of the Atto 3, Seal, and Sealion 06 DM-i plug-in hybrid models. There is no confirmation yet regarding the potential production of a three-row seat model at this facility.
