2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB facelift launched in Malaysia, from RM291k – MHEV, 2 variants


The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB facelift has made its launch in Malaysia. Offered in two variants, the 7-seater SUV is now priced from RM290,888 (OTR, without insurance). This is RM2,000 costlier than its previous starting price of the GLB200. The GLB250 4MATIC, on the other hands, sees a RM9,000 price bump.

On the outside, the Mercedes-Benz has given the facelifted GLB a reworked face, including new LED headlights with new daytime running lights (DRLs) graphics as well as restyled taillights graphics. Like other recent Mercedes-Benz models such as the facelifted A-Class and GLA, the LED headlights previously present on the GLB have now been swapped out for reflector units.

Also new here are the new front grille on both the GLA200 and GLA250, new front and rear bumpers, and blacked-out sideview mirror caps. Also blacked out are the roof rails, which were finished in brushed aluminium in the pre-facelifted model.

Powering the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLB lineup in Malaysia are now mild hybrid (MHEV) powertrains, albeit with different engines. The GLB200 features a 1.3-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a 48-volt belt starter generator, generating a combined system output of 163 hp (metric) and 270 Nm. Mated to the brand’s 7G dual-clutch transmission (DCT) power is sent to the front wheels.

The more powerful Mercedes-Benz GLB250 4MATIC gets a larger 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, also paired with a 48-volt belt starter generator, resulting in a combined system output of 224 hp (metric) 350 Nm. The GLB250 gets Mercedes-Benz’s 8G DCT gearbox, sending power to all four wheels via the brand’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

The Malaysian-spec 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB200’s performance-related details are listed as follows:

Moving inside the Malaysian-spec facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLB, you will find a refreshed interior featuring Mercedes-Benz’s latest generation steering wheel, and a cleaner centre console thanks to the removal of the touchpad, which controls the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system.

Speaking of MBUX, the facelifted GLB now sports the latest MBUX NTG7 software. Also new here is the brand’s signature 64-colour ambient lighting system.
