2024 Mercedes-Benz C350e PHEV Malaysia price confirmed at RM339k – replaces C300

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has just confirmed the price of the new 2024 Mercedes-Benz C350e in Malaysia at RM338,888. Initially previewed with an estimated price of RM355,000, the final price of the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is lower by RM16,112. Its real and estimated price gap shows a similar pattern with the Mercedes-Benz CLE.

The arrival of the Mercedes-Benz C350e PHEV in Malaysia replaces the mild hybrid (MHEV) C300 which was previously available alongside the C200. Now, non-AMG options for the C-Class sedan in Malaysia include the C200 MHEV and the C350e PHEV. The C350e is locally assembled in Pekan, just like the C300 that it replaces.

It is a new variant for Malaysia that sits on the same W206 underpinnings of the current C-Class. Compared to the outgoing C300, the C350e sports a slightly different appearance with a smaller set of 18-inch wheels and black trims instead of chrome trims on the exterior. It still sports the AMG Line kit, albeit with some tweaks. To be frank, we do think it did look better with the C300’s original 19-inch wheels.

A summary of the C350e PHEV’s exterior equipment is as such:

  • Digital Light LED headlights
  • LED tail lights
  • Adaptive Highbeam Assist
  • AMG Line exterior kit with Night Package
  • 18-inch AMG 5-twin spoke light alloy wheels

The biggest change to this C-Class variant replacement would be the powertrain which is now a PHEV instead of an MHEV. This means that the car can now be charged via external sources and that there is a larger battery that makes the car capable of a significant pure electric range.

The PHEV system consists of a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which puts out 204 hp (metric) and 320 Nm by itself and an electric motor that produces 129 hp (metric) and 440 Nm on its own. Paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, power is sent to the rear wheels, resulting in a combined output of 313 hp (metric) and 550 Nm.

Thanks to the 25.4 kWh battery pack, the Mercedes-Benz C350e for Malaysia can travel over 100 km in pure electric vehicle (EV) mode. Charging-wise, the C350e can handle AC charging at a maximum rate of 11 kW, which charges the car from flat to full in two hours.
