2024 Porsche Panamera open for booking in Malaysia, from RM1.3 million – 2.9L turbo V6, 353hp

Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) has just opened its order books for the third-generation Porsche Panamera in Malaysia. Prices for the grand tourer will start from RM1.3 million.

At first glance, it might not be obvious that you’re looking at the all-new Porsche Panamera. But upon closer inspection, you will notice an additional air intake above the number plate. Porsche says this helps compensate for the increased air requirement of the drive systems.

As standard, a set of Matrix LED headlights is included with the third-generation Porsche Panamera in Malaysia. Optionally, customers can also opt for the brighter HD Matrix LED lighting system.

Powering the third-generation Porsche Panamera in Malaysia is the 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 engine, which the brand says is modified to push out more power at 353 hp (metric) and 500 Nm. Paired with an eight-speed PDK gearbox, the Panamera can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds and achieve a top speed of 272 km/h.

The third-generation Porsche Panamera rides on dual-chamber two-valve air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard. Rear-axle steering can also be had as an option.

Moving inside the new Porsche Panamera, you will find a little toggle switch-like gear selector to the left of the steering wheel, much like in the Taycan and Cayenne. In terms of screens, the four-door grand tourer is fitted with a 12.6-inch curved digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment head unit that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Newly added here is the optional 10.9-inch front passenger display. It allows the operation of the infotainment system and supports video streaming while the car is in motion. To prevent the driver from being distracted while behind the wheel, the passenger display cannot be seen from the driver’s seat.

On the safety side of things, Porsche has upgraded the Panamera’s active safety features. For example, the active speed assistant can now interact with the traffic sign recognition function. When active, the Panamera will not automatically drive faster than the appropriate speed limit.
