Start of the EV War? Neta Auto Malaysia offers life-time warranty and unmissable RM24k cashback

As the Madani Government rolls out targeted subsidies, there’s still a sweet spot for you to dip into government perks – the SoLaRis scheme offers up to RM4,000 in rebates, useful if you’re installing solar panels to power an EV. And with over a dozen new Battery-Operated Vehicles (BEVs) launched in Malaysia in 2024 including the Neta V, now’s a great time to look around.

Suffice to say, there will be more BEVs to come, meaning more incentives and offers from car brands eager to loosen your purse strings. Neta Auto Malaysia has set out to entice potential owners by offering a lifetime warranty on their cheerful urban runabout, the Neta V.

This unprecedented move, which we certainly hope other carmakers will try to match, covers the battery, motor, and Motor Controller Unit (MCU). This offer applies to only the first 500 units brought in, including the 100+ units already on the road. Other caveats include a 30k per year limit, private use only, and it covers only the first owner.

To sweeten the deal further, Intro Synergy Sdn Bhd has also launched an ambassador programme. Owners will be paid RM24,300 if they display a discreet badge on their newly purchased Neta V for 5 years.

To recall, the Neta V was launched in Malaysia in October 2023 in a single variant only and with an initial price tag of RM100,000. It is a single-motor electric vehicle (EV) that outputs 95hp (metric) and 150 Nm. It also does 0-50 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

It has a battery capacity of 38.5 kWh and with it, the Neta V has an NEDC range of 380 km. To charge, the Neta V can handle a maximum AC charging rate of 6.6 kW and a maximum DC charging rate of 100 kW. The former takes 8 hours to fully charge the battery from flat while the latter takes 30 minutes to charge the battery from 30% to 80%. Interestingly, the Neta V is also capable of an optional vehicle-to-load (V2L) function at a rate of 3.3 kW.

This offer was first revealed during a media site visit to NExV Manufacturing’s upcoming CKD plant in Chembong, a district about 30 minutes away from Seremban.

Hoping to see EV brands outdo each other? We certainly do.
