Lotus Emeya debuts in Thailand, from approx. RM778k – Taycan rival with up to 610km of range

The Lotus Emeya has just made its debut in Thailand and is now open for booking. Being the brand’s second electric vehicle (EV) model and first hyper-GT, the Emeya is available in two configurations – the Emeya S and also the Emeya R. Prices for the two variants start at 5.99 million baht (approx. RM778k) and 6.89 million baht (approx. RM895k) respectively.

On the outside, the Lotus Emeya sports the brand’s “Porosity” design concept, first seen on the Eletre EV SUV. Working together with the Emeya’s aerodynamics design is a total of eight vents to allow better airflow for maximum aerodynamics.

The all-electric hyper-GT sports a list of advanced active aerodynamic features, including the active front grille, active air dam, and active rear diffuser. There is also a dual-layer rear spoiler that measures 296 mm, which helps offer a net downforce of more than 215 kg. This results in a drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd.

Exterior equipment included with the Emeya consists of Matrix LED split headlights, flush door handles, and a pair of side-view cameras. The Lotus Emeya in Thailand can be had with either 21- or 22-inch alloy wheels.

Powering the Lotus Emeya S in Thailand is a dual-motor all-wheel drive electric motor setup that puts out 603 hp and 710 Nm, allowing it to sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.15 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 250 km/h. The Thai-spec Emeya R also features a dual-motor all-wheel drive electric motor setup but produces more power at 905 hp and 985 Nm. This enables the hyper-GT to perform the century sprint in just 2.78 seconds and reach a top speed of 256 km/h. Lotus also claims that the Emeya R can accelerate from 80 to 120 km/h in under 2 seconds.

Supplying power to both the Lotus Emeya S and Emeya R in Thailand is the same 102 kWh battery. This provides the former with an electric range of 610 km (WLTP) and the latter with 485 km (WLTP).

Inside, the Lotus Emeya features what the brand refers to as the “intelligent driver cockpit” and “intuitive infotainment system”. It features a Dolby Atmos-enabled 3D surround sound system too, just like the Eletre, with its in-car audio system being sourced from Lotus’ partner KEF (Uni-Q™ speaker design and Uni-Core™ space-saving subwoofer enclosure). Also included is a 55-inch projected augmented reality (AR) head-up display (HUD).

Safety-wise, the Lotus Emeya is capable of Level 4 autonomous driving. Thanks to Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8155 processor and Unreal Engine 6 software, the Emeya sports 34 advanced sensors which can scan for obstacles at up to a 200 m radius.
