2024 Chery Tiggo 7 Pro previewed in Malaysia, est. RM130k – now open for booking, launching end of May



Chery has just previewed its C-segment fighter, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, here in Malaysia, ahead of its launch in the country. To be locally assembled (CKD) in Kulim Kedah, order books for the SUV have also been opened starting today (March 25). With an estimated price of below RM130,000, The Tiggo 7 Pro will be launching here by the end of May this year.

To recap, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro measures 4,513 mm long, 1,862 mm wide, and 1,696 mm tall, and is underpinned by a 2,670 mm long wheelbase. It also has a 175 mm ground clearance, just in case you are wondering.

Chery Malaysia is offering four exterior colour options with the Tiggo 7 Pro, including Carbon Black, Vanilla Blue, Bloodstone Red with a black roof, and Khaki White with a black roof. The Tiggo 7 Pro’s main competitors in Malaysia will consist of SUVs such as the Honda CR-V, Proton X70, and the Mazda CX-5.

Powering the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is the brand’s 1.6-litre turbocharged inline-4 petrol engine, making 197 hp and 290 Nm. Paired with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), the SUV can perform the century sprint in under 8.3 seconds. Chery Malaysia also claims a fuel consumption rating of 7.0L/100km with its C-segment SUV.

Inside, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is equipped with leatherette seats, ventilation function for the front seats, a 24.6-inch dual-screen setup that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, and a 50W wireless charging pad that sports an active cooling system.

Also included with the Tiggo 7 Pro is an 8-speaker Sony audio system and a 64-colour ambient lighting system. Its boot has a loading capacity of 475 L, which can be extended to 1,672 L with the rear seats folded down.

Safety-wise, the Tiggo 7 Pro comes with a 540° camera system and the carmaker’s ADAS 2.5 safety suite which comes with a total of 16 safety functions. This includes Front Collision Warning (FCW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Multi Collision Brake (MCB), Door Open Warning (DOW), Integrated Cruise Assist (ICA), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Blind-spot Detection (BSD), and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Traffic Jam Assistant (TJA), Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Lane Departure Reminder (LDR), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK).

The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro will be available for viewing at all Chery showrooms nationwide from April onwards. Customer delivery for the SUV is expected to start by the end of May 2024.
