Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214 launched in Thailand – E220d & E350e, from approx. RM519k



The Land of Smiles has just received the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214. Offered with two configurations, the Mercedes-Benz E220d AMG Line and E350e AMG Dynamic, the luxury sedan in Thailand is priced at 3,990,000 baht (approx. RM 518,824) and 4,250,000 baht (approx. RM552,632) respectively.

On the outside, the Mercedes-Benz E220d in Thailand is equipped with features such as LED High-Performance headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, and a set of 19-inch AMG twin-spoke alloy wheels. The E350e on the other hand gets Digital Light LED headlights that come with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, as well as a set of 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Both variants of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214 in Thailand are also equipped with the brand’s illuminated radiator grille and the AMG Line kit. The kit includes the AMG front apron, front splitter, front chrome trim strips, as well as chrome trim inserts in the AMG apron.

Powering the Thai-spec Mercedes-Benz E220d AMG Line is a mild hybrid system (MHEV), consisting of a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine and a 48V EQ Boost electric motor system, producing a total of 197 hp (metric) and 440 Nm. Paired with the German carmaker’s 9G-Tronic gearbox, power is sent to the rear wheels.

The Mercedes-Benz E350e AMG Dynamic in Thailand features a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, sporting a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 204 hp (metric) and 320 Nm and an electric motor pushing out 129 hp (metric) and 440 Nm. Mated to the brand’s 9G-Tronic gearbox, the Thai spec E350e’s system output is rated at 313 hp (metric) and 550 Nm. With power all sent to the rear wheels, the car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds.

Thanks to a 25.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Thai-spec Mercedes-Benz E350e can travel up to 100 km in full electric vehicle (EV) mode. When the battery runs out of battery, it can be charged via AC charging at a maximum rate of 11 kW, and DC charging at a maximum rate of 55 kW.

Moving inside, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214 in Thailand features kits such as Artico leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, and ventilated front seats. Also included is a Nappa leather-wrapped multifunction sports steering wheel, the MBUX Superscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, electrically adjustable rear sunshades, and AMG sports pedals.

The Thai-spec E350e also gets some exclusive equipment. This includes a head-up display (HUD), Burmester 4D surround sound system, and Active Ambient Lighting.

On the safety side of things, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214 comes with the German marque’s Driving Assistance Plus Package. Active safety features included are such as Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, and Active Steering Assist. The brand’s PRE–SAFE Impulse Side pre-incident prevention system and PARKTRONIC Active Parking Assist feature are also included.
