The BYD Atto 3 has just hit the 500,000-unit production mark at the Hefei Industrial plant, just 19 months since its global launch. According to BYD, the BYD Atto 3 has quickly become the best-selling new energy vehicle (NEV) in multiple countries including Singapore, Thailand, Israel, and Sweden.
Until now, BYD’s passenger vehicles have operated in more than 50 countries and regions. In Israel, the BYD Atto 3 has held the top NEV spot for 9 consecutive months. Closer to home, the BYD Atto 3 is Thailand’s best-selling pure electric vehicle (BEV) as of August 2023.

In Malaysia, the BYD Atto 3 is made available in two variants – the Standard Range and the Extended Range. Prices start from RM149,800 for the Standard Range and top off at RM167,800 for the Extended Range variant. Both variants are similarly equipped with the exception of the battery capacity which results in different driving ranges.
The BYD Atto 3 Extended Range houses a 49.92 kWh battery which provides 345 km of range (WLTP). The Extended Range, as its name suggests, provides a longer range of 420 km (WLTP) thanks to a larger battery capacity of 60.48 kWh.

To charge, the BYD Atto 3 Standard Range and Extended Range can handle a maximum AC charging rate 6.6 kW. As for DC charging, the Standard Range can handle a maximum rate of 70 kW while the Extended Range can handle a maximum of 80 kW. The BYD Atto 3 is also capable of vehicle-to-load (V2L) function at a rate of 2.2 kW.
Earlier in August this year, BYD reported that it had crossed the 5 million production threshold for its range NEVs. Now, the BYD Atto 3 contributes to 500,000 units of that ever-growing number. The BYD brand was launched in Malaysia in late 2022 with the Atto3 as the first model. The current BYD lineup in Malaysia includes the Atto 3 and the Dolphin.
