Volkswagen has been teasing the upcoming all-new Volkswagen Tiguan since June this year. However, ahead of its world premiere set happen in autumn this year, leaked images of the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan have surfaced online, showing the SUV sporting smoother curves and a more “ID”-like styling.
The leaked pictures essentially peel off the camouflage wrap from the official images released by Volkswagen. Perhaps the most striking design element of the all-new Tiguan is its taillight cluster which now spans across the entire width of the car. It is a new look for the Tiguan which is now in line with the design of the brand’s ID electric cars.

Volkswagen has previously revealed that the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan will be built on the MQB Evo platform which will enable TDI, TSI, eTSI, and eHybrid powertrains. The electric range of the new plug-in hybrid drives has been increased to up to 100 kilometres compared with the predecessors, depending on equipment. In addition, AC charging will be faster in all eHybrid versions, and DC charging will also be possible as standard for the first time.
Besides the platform and compatible powertrains, Volkswagen has also revealed a new generation of adaptive suspension control (DCC) with an optional DCC Pro system with two-valve shock absorbers. The all-new Tiguan will be equipped as standard with a vehicle dynamics manager – an MQB system that made its debut in the current Golf GTI.

Additionally, the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan will also be optionally available with ergoActive front seats. Among other things, these seats come with pneumatic four-way lumbar support adjustment and a pneumatic 10-chamber pressure point massage function in the backrests. The luggage compartment of the Tiguan is also larger by 37 litres compared to its predecessor’s, now with a capacity of 652 litres.
In Malaysia, the Volkswagen Tiguan is only sold as the 7-seater Tiguan Allspace with three variants to choose from – Life, Elegance, and R-Line. Prices (with the Volkswagen Assurance Package) start from RM174,590 and top off at RM257,073.
