The latest Volkswagen car in Malaysia to be blessed with the IQ.Drive advanced safety features is the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace. Prices of the car have also been bumped, with the base “Life” variant now starting at RM174,590. The revised prices for the entire Tiguan Allspace Lineup are as such:
- Tiguan Allspace Life 1.4TSI – RM174,590
- Tiguan Allspace Elegance 1.4 TSI – RM203,590
- Tiguan Allspace R-Line 2.0TSI 4MOTION – RM257,073
The prices listed are those which include the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP) which essentially provides owners with an additional 3-year extended mileage warranty and 3 years free maintenance. Without VAP, the Tiguan Allspace only comes by default with a 2-year/unlimited mileage warranty and 5 years of roadside maintenance.
The VAP costs around RM8,000 to RM10,000 depending on the variant and customers can choose to opt out of it. However, it would be a fairer comparison with the previous Tiguan (without IQ.Drive) that came with a 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty, 3 years free maintenance, 5 years roadside assistance by default (before the introduction of VAP).

With the VAP included, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace’s starting price is now RM14,000 more expensive for the “Life” variant. The “Exclusive” is now costs RM23,000 more while the “R-Line” costs RM31,000 more.
What the IQ.Drive adds on are essentially safety features like Front Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Side Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Lane Assist. Previously unavailable on the Tiguan for the Malaysian market, these features are now standard across the range, even on the base “Life” variant.
Besides the addition of IQ. Drive, the updated Tiguan Allspace also comes with a wireless mobile phone charger as standard. All else, the Volkswagen Tiguan remains pretty much the same across the three variants. Before the Tiguan Allspace, the other Volkswagen models like the Golf and Arteon have been upgraded with the IQ.Drive advanced safety package.
