Its latest generation, the X254 is now in Malaysia, available as the single-variant 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC which costs RM429,888.

It may not really look like it, but the latest Mercedes-Benz GLC in Malaysia is an all-new car that sits on an all-new platform. It essentially now shares the same underpinnings as the W206 C-Class, W214 E-Class, and W223 S-Class. And while this means you can expect a totally new driving experience compared to its predecessor, it also means that this generation the GLC is the last of its kind. What does that mean? Well, allow us to explain in the full review video below.

What’s new to the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC is that all of its variants (worldwide) are now electrified. And the GLC 300 4MATIC that we get in Malaysia is a mild hybrid SUV with a 48V system. The system makes a rated output of 258 hp and 400 Nm and it gets an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that provides 23 hp and 200 Nm when needed

Paired with the drive unit of the GLC 300 4MATIC is a 9-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels and the GLC 300 4MATIC does the century sprint in 6.2 seconds onward to a limited top speed of 240 km/h.

Inside, the all-new GLC now has clear relation to the W206 C-Class, thanks to its large portrait head unit and T-shaped centre console.Naturally, this comes with the latest MBUX system, which makes the ownership experience rather convenient and pleasant.

You will see AMG treatments in the cabin like the AMG-line steering wheel and the aluminium foot pedals. While the GLC 300 4MATIC loses out on some features like a sunroof and rear USB ports, the cabin is still a decently premium place to be in.

Safety-wise, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 in Malaysia is specified with passive cruise control, blind spot assist, active lane keeping assist, and active brake assist. Mercedes-Benz’s Pre-Safe system, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, as well as the Parking Package with 360° cameras, are also included in the GLC 300.
