Honda Malaysia has just announced that the Honda WR-V is now open for bookings in Malaysia, ahead of its launch which is set to happen in the third quarter of 2023. The Honda WR-V is a small 5-seater SUV and WR-V essentially stands for “Winsome Runabout Vehicle”.
With the BR-V set to be discontinued in Malaysia, the WR-V will take its place in the brand’s Malaysian line-up although it is a smaller SUV that sits two fewer people. The Honda WR-V measures 4,060mm in length, 1,780mm in width, and 1,608mm in height. It will be competing against the likes of the Perodua Ativa.
Just like some Honda models, the WR-V will be offered with an RS variant. This will variant will sport a newly designed RS emblem, a variant-exclusive front grille, and 17-inch Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels. The all-new WR-V also features power-retractable door mirrors, auto LED Headlights, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), LED front fog lights, and LED sequential turn signals.
Powering the Honda WR-V Is a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine that generates a maximum power of 121 hp (metric) and a maximum torque of 145 Nm. Paired with the engine is a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) with G-design shift technology.
Safety-wise, the Honda WR-V is equipped with the full suite of Honda Sensing advanced systems which includes Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Auto High Beam (AHB).

Honda Malaysia will be conducting exclusive previews of the upcoming g Honda WR-V starting June 16. Customers can already make their bookings for the Honda WR-V now. Details of the exclusive preview are as such:
- 16-18 June: Ban Lee Heng Motor Seremban, Kah Motor Co Johor Bahru, Unite Automobile Pontian
- 23-25 June: Formula Venture Butterworth, Kah Motor Co Ipoh, Tan Siang Auto Teluk Intan
- 30 June – 2 July: AutoWorld Asia Sg Buloh, Elimna Motors Elmina, HZN Cars Glenmarie, MH Prestige Auto Damansara
