Video: 2023 BMW iX1 xDrive30 in Malaysia – 313 hp, 494 Nm, RM285k

The new fully electric BMW iX1 is now in Malaysia and is available in a single variant – the xDrive30 – priced at RM285,800. The BMW iX1 will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQA and Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric.

Aside from the new and more aggressive front and rear design, further enhanced with an M Sport kit, the iX1 also comes with flushed door handles. The 19-inch style 871M bicolour light alloy wheels add a touch of sportiness to the electric crossover while the M high-gloss Shadowline trim gives the iX1 a more sinister look.

Among the other kit includes adaptive LED headlamps, the BMW Digital Key Plys, and welcome lights. The list of equipment is even longer on the inside. For starters, the iX1 is fitted with the BMW Curved Display consisting of a 10.25-inch and 10.7-inch display, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other fitments include the Harman Kardon sound system, heads-up display, M Leather steering wheel, wireless charger, sports seats, the Mirror and BMW IconicSounds Electric package. Boot space is rated at 490-litres, and up to 1,495 litres with the rear seats folded.

With a dual motor setup, the iX1 xDrive30 offers all-wheel drive capabilities with 313 hp and 494 Nm of torque at its disposal. Its 0-100 km/h time is 5.6 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h.

The motors are powered by a 64.7 kWh battery pack that provides a pure electric range of 440 km (WLTP). With 11 kW AC charging, the iX1 can be charged from 0-100% state of charge in 6.5 hours while with 130 kW DC charging, 10-80% state of charge takes 29 minutes.

The iX1 is accompanied by a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, with free scheduled service. The batteries are covered by an 8-year/160,000 km warranty. With the standard two-year warranty, the iX1 goes for RM273,370.
