Carsome forays into after sales, launches new multi-brand service centre

Malaysia’s home-grown integrated car e-commerce platform, Carsome, has officially launched the Carsome Service Centre in Petaling Jaya, its first venture into the after-sales car service market. The Petaling Jaya service centre is one of the company’s two initial outlets, with the other located in Ampang.

Carsome says that its service centres are not just catered to its pre-owned car buyers, but also to serve anyone looking for worry-free car maintenance, especially if their vehicle’s warranty has expired.

The Carsome Service Centre differentiates itself with the others through its upfront and transparent pricing, with three basic tiers of regular maintenance packages: Essential, which includes engine oil, oil filter, and oil pan washer replacement, alongside windshield washer replacement, starting from RM98; Standard, which adds on air filter and brake fluid replacement, from RM138; and Comprehensive, which replaces the Standard’s additions with coolant and transmission oil replacement, from RM288.

Each car maintenance service will include a complimentary 20-point inspection to identify any underlying issues, before being recommended a suitable maintenance package as above. Detailed billing information will also be provided to customers before any servicing works are carried out.

For more specific situations, a service advisor will instead provide the most accurate service recommendations along with their quotations. Carsome assures that all services are carried out by experienced service mechanics to industry standards.

Customers can book a service appointment via Carsome’s online portal or mobile applications. Additionally, their vehicles’ service records will also be available through their profile online, giving customers easy access to their vehicle’s service history and advice on their next service.

Customers who purchase their cars through Carsome’s Certified used car programme will receive two service vouchers, which should be sufficient to cover the vehicles’ first-year maintenance requirements, Carsome Certified chief executive officer Mei Han said during a Q-and-A session at the launch today.

The service centres are also capable of carrying out other regular repairs, including wheel alignment and air-con servicing, he added.
