TNB Electron 180 kW charging stations now in operation at R&R Tapah, Ayer Keroh and Paka

Tenaga Nasional, in collaboration with PLUS Malaysia, has launched three new TNB Electron charging stations.

The charging stations are located at R&R Ayer Keroh (Northbound) and R&R Tapah (Northbound) along the North-South Expressway and R&R Paka (Northbound) along the East Coast Expressway (LPT2).

Each of the charging stations will feature two 90 kW DC chargers to cater to two electric vehicles at one time. For now, the charging stations will be available for use, free of charge, until February 28. Prices will be announced on March 1st 2023.

Six more charging stations are under construction; located at R&R Machap (Southbound), R&R Rawang (Northbound), R&R Gunung Semanggol (Southbound), R&R Gurun (North and Southbound) along the North-South Expressway. Along the East Coast Expressway, another charging station will be added at the R&R Paka (Southbound). These stations are expected to be complete by the end of this year.

The entire TNB Electron charging network is estimated to consume 99,000 kWh of electricity throughout 2023. During the same period, this will help offset 7.2 metric tones of carbon dioxide emission. At the moment there are 20 fast charging facilities in operation along the PLUS highway, with the company ready to add more at other R&Rs.

To access the chargers, users will have to download the GO TO-U app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play store.
