Honda Civic e:HEV RS hybrid – more than 180 units delivered in one month since launch

Honda Malaysia recently held a special ceremony at the MH Prestige Auto dealership for the delivery of the first hybrid Civic e:HEV RS in the nation. As owner number one in Malaysia, Chin Kok Fung received RM4,000 worth of exclusive Honda accessories and merchandise as a token of appreciation from the carmaker.

Speaking at the ceremony, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hironobu Yoshimura said, “[The Civic e:HEV RS] is definitely a leap forward in our effort to offer the most advanced hybrid technology to Malaysians. To-date, we have delivered more than 180 units of Civic e:HEV RS to Malaysians, and today we are celebrating the memorable occasion with the first owner, Mr. Chin Kok Fung.”

On his choice of the Civic e:HEV RS, Chin commented, “I have always been a fan of performance driven cars. When Honda introduced a 2.0L e:HEV powertrain, I was immediately impressed with the technology and performance it offers. I am looking forward to experience [sic] the thrill of owning this exciting e:HEV technology and to test the car’s potential.”

The Honda Civic e:HEV RS made its debut in Malaysia roughly a month ago, taking the spot as the model’s range-topping variant at a price of RM166,500. Underneath the bonnet is one of Honda’s most powerful e:HEV hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine and a dual-motor set-up for a total output of 184 hp and 315 Nm – all of which mostly coming from the Traction electric motor thanks to Honda’s unique series-parallel hybrid layout.

The Civic e:HEV RS was also recently awarded Best Performance Car in the 2022/2023 Japan Car of the Year awards. For more details on the hybrid Honda Civic e:HEV RS in Malaysia, check out our launch coverage here.
