All-new 2022 Ford Everest now in Malaysia – three variants, from RM264k

Two months after the debut of the all-new 2022 Ranger, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) has now unveiled its SUV brother, the Ford Everest, here in Malaysia. The seven-seater SUV will be offered in three variants: 2WD Sport, 4WD Trend, and 4WD Titanium, starting at a price of RM263,888.

The full pricelist is available below.

Built on the same platform as the Ranger, the all-new Ford Everest shares many of the Ranger’s signature design touches, including the C-Clamp LED headlights (Matrix LED on the range-topping Titanium variant) up front, as well as the rugged-looking front grille, featuring a chunky horizontal bar across.

However, taking on the guise of an SUV, the Everest also gets a unique body design, with a model-specific rear-end design headlined by the snazzy full-width LED tail lights. The Everest also gets a slightly elongated wheelbase (+50 mm), which not only helps improve the SUV’s interior space, but also provides better on-road and off-road capabilities, according to Ford.

Other standard exterior equipment include:

  • 18- (Trend 4WD) and 20-inch alloy wheels
  • Roof rails
  • Powered tailgate (Handsfree on the Sport 2WD and and Titanium 4WD)
  • Underbody protection bash plates (Titanium 4WD)

Just like the outside, the dashboard on the all-new 2022 Ford Everest is also pretty much identical to that of the Ranger, headlined by the vertically-oriented central infotainment display, measuring 10.1-inches diagonally on the Sport 2WD and Trend 4WD variants, and 12-inches on the range-topping Titanium 4WD.

All variants also get a digital instrument cluster, measuring eight-inches on the lower two variants, and 12.4-inches on the range-topping Titanium 4WD.

The Ford Everest comes in a 5+2 seating arrangement, wrapped in leather upholstery across all variants. The range-topping Titanium 4WD variant stands out with its powered folding third-row seats, alongside panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree surround view monitor.

Other interior equipment highlights include:

  • Qi wireless charging pad
  • Powered front seats
  • Automatic dual-zone climate control with rear blower
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
  • Electronic parking brake
  • Electronic gear shifter (Titanium 4WD)
  • 230V AC outlet, up to 400W (Titanium 4WD)

The all-new 2022 Ford Everest will be offered with two powertrain options. The entry-level Sport 2WD will be the sole variant to feature a 2.0-litre single-turbo inline-four diesel mill, offering up to 170 hp and 405 Nm of torque, and paired to a six-speed Automatic gearbox to send drive to the rear wheels.

The other two variants get the Bi-Turbo variant of the 2.0-litre engine, bringing outputs up to 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The Bi-Turbo-equipped variants also get a 10-speed automatic transmission, as well as all-wheel drive as standard – the latter adjustable with an Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly system.

Safety wise, only the range-topping Titanium 4WD variant gets the advanced driver assistance suite, which include features such as:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-go functionality
  • Lane centring assist
  • Lane departure warning and assist
  • Autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Reverse brake assist
  • Blind-spot information system
  • Rear-cross traffic alert
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system
  • Active Park assist

The all-new 2022 Ford Everest starts at RM263,888 for the Sport 2WD, moving up to RM281,888 for the Trend 4WD, and RM308,888 for the range-topping Titanium 4WD; all prices are on-the-road, without insurance.

Included in the price is a three-year/100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty, plus a two-year/60,000 km extended warranty offered locally by SDAC.
