Honda Malaysia recalls City and Civic for ADAS camera and welding points – 702 units affected

Honda Malaysia is currently recalling 630 units of the 2021 Honda City Hybrid and 72 units of the 2022 Honda Civic. All affected customers will be informed via notification letters which include details of the product recall.

Both the City Hybrid and the Civic are recalled for different reasons. For the Honda City Hybrid, the recall is due to an inactive Advanced Driver Assistance (ADAS) camera on the front windscreen. Honda Malaysia says the camera may not operate properly, causing the ADAS to be ineffective during operation. Honda Malaysia will replace the ADAS cameras on the 630 affected units of the 2021 Honda City Hybrid.

As for the Honda Civic, the recall is due to incomplete welding in the driver seat slide adjuster. The defect may cause the driver seat to not be in a fixed position and may compromise the seatbelt protection system. For the 72 units affected, Honda Malaysia will rectify the welding points.

Honda Malaysia apologises for the inconvenience caused to their customers and reassures them that other current production and selling models are not affected by the recall. Thankfully, no unwanted incidents have occurred to affected customers and Honda is taking precautionary safety measures to ensure the safety of its customers.
