2022 Proton Exora launched – RM3k pricier, but what’s new?

The Proton Exora has just received another update for 2022, sporting the new Proton emblem and LED DRLs on the Premium variant, nothing else is different on the exterior. Dubbed the Running Change 2 (RC2), the 2022 Proton Exora now provides electronic stability control (ESC) on all variants.

The minor changes bump the Proton Exora’s price to RM62,800 for the Executive variant and RM69,800 for the Premium variant – RM3,000 more expensive than what it used to be (with SST included). Still powered by the same 1.6-lire turbocharged engine paired to the same CVT, the 2022 Proton Exora produces 140 hp of maximum power and 205 Nm of maximum torque.

The exterior of the 2022 Proton Exora is virtually unchanged besides the new Proton emblem and LED DRLs on the Premium variant. The Executive variant offers halogen headlamps, 16-inch single-tone alloys, and manual-folding side mirrors. The Premium variant adds on LED DRLs, electric folding side mirrors, two-tone finish alloy wheels, and exterior accessories. Colour options remain the same with both variants offered in Snow White, Indiana Grey, Rosewood Maroon, Ruby Red, and Cocoa Grey.

On the inside, the Executive variant comes with a urethane steering wheel, a multi-info instrument cluster display, fabric upholstery, manual air-conditioning with rear vents and N95 cabin filter, and a standard head unit with Bluetooth and four speakers. The Premium variant spices things up on the inside with full leatherette upholstery (compared to previous semi-leatherette), a leather multi-function steering wheel, and a second-row seat armrest. Also exclusive to the Premium variant is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with “Hi Proton” voice command system, Smartphone connectivity, online navigation, online music streaming, 4G, and Wi-Fi.
