Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia today unveiled a new entry-level variant for the Tiguan Allspace, bringing the model offering up to three variants. Dubbed the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life, the new locally-assembled base-spec seven-seater SUV will go on sale here in Malaysia at RM172,990 without insurance, and before relevant transaction fees and road tax.
Despite being the new entry-level variant, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life in Malaysia still comes fairly well-equipped in terms of equipment. In fact, its exterior is nearly identical to the Tiguan Allspace Elegance variant, save for the unpainted trims on the bumpers.
The Life is also roughly identical to the Elegance in terms of equipment, with the exterior adorned by fully LED headlights plus a light bar that extends into the grille, LED taillights (with unique lighting effects), identical 18-inch ‘Frankfurt’ wheels, ‘Allspace’ trims, roof rails, and silver-painted side mirrors.
Inside, the new Life variant features the 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard, alongside a tri-zone Climatronic automatic climate control, leather multi-function sports steering wheel, and an electronic parking brake.

Just like the other two variants, the Life also continues to offer seven seats on the inside, boasting flexible practicality with up to 1,775 litres of “class-leading boot space” when the second- and third-row seats are fully folded.
The new Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life is powered by the same 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged inline-four engine found in the Elegance, which offers a maximum of 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission, and the combination translates to a fuel consumption rating of approximately 7.7 l/100 km, according to the company.
Safety wise, the Allspace Life is again equipped similarly to the two other Allspace variants, with features including six airbags, multi-collision brake, lane keeping assist, and a driver alert function, although autonomous emergency braking still continues to be omitted on Volkswagen cars here in Malaysia.
The Volkswagen Allspace 1.4 TSI Life is priced at RM172,990 (without insurance, road tax, and relevant transaction fees), making it RM7,600 cheaper than the Elegance (RM180,590). Included in the price is a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, three years of free maintenance, as well as five years of roadside assistance.
Order books are now open at all authorised Volkswagen dealerships nationwide, with test drive arrangements also available. Five exterior colours are available for the Allspace Life, including Atlantic Blue, Platinum Grey and Pyrite Silver metallics, alongside Deep Black and Oryx White in pearl-effect finishes.
