Video: Maserati MC20 3.0 now in Malaysia from RM1.078 million, 5 Things

Maserati Malaysia has announced the arrival of the Maserati MC20 and here’s what you need to know about it!

The MC20 name stands for ‘Maserati Corse’ while the 20 denotes the year 2020 – when it was first introduced. The new supercar is an evolution of the MC12 supercar from 2004 that marked Maserati’s return to racing after 37 years. With the new MC20, Maserati will once again return to the world of racing.

The new MC20 represents a new era of supercars for the company not just in terms of design but also marks the return of Maserati making its own engine – called the Nettuno – for the first time in 20 years.

The MC20 is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine with 630 hp and 730 Nm to drive the rear wheels alone; allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 8.8 seconds before hitting a 325 km/h top speed.

Built around a carbon fibre monocoque, the MC20 weighs less than 1,500 – lighter than a BMW 320i. Brakes are from Brembo, with 6-pot calipers in the front but that’s not even the coolest bit. Flush door handles and the butterfly-style doors aside, the MC20 also features a Trident logo on its glass engine cover.

As for the interior, what do you think? Check it out in the video!
