The BMW iX3 was launched last October with two variants available – the Inspiring and Impressive – with prices starting from RM298,354 while the higher-end Impressive starts from RM318,608.
Both variants of the BMW iX3 offer the same performance with 286 hp and 400 Nm from an electric motor that drives the rear wheels. The electric motor is powered by a 73.8 kWh battery, offering up to 461 km of driving range.
With an 11kW AC charger, the iX3 can be charged up in around 7.5 hours but with a faster 150 kW DC charger, it takes 30 minutes to get the iX3 up to 80% charged.
In terms of its appearance, the BMW iX3 arrives in Malaysia as the facelift version with dramatically redesigned taillamps, slimmer headlamps and larger kidney grilles.
Both the Inspiring and Impressive variants of the iX3 come with M Sport body kits with sportier front and rear bumpers but the higher-end Impressive gets 20-inch M aerodynamic wheels and BMW’s Laser Light technology for its headlamps.
Inside, the Impressive variant like the one you see in the pictures, gets the additional 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless charging, head-up display, 360-degree view monitor, and electric driving sounds composed by world-renowned Hans Zimmer.
Both variants share features like wireless charging, hands-free powered tailgate, 3-zone air conditioning, a panoramic sunroof, and the BMW Reversing Assistant feature that helps the driver reverse out of tight spaces. The driver is only required to manage the brakes.
On the topic of driver aids, both the Impressive and Inspiring variants of the fully-electric BMW iX3 come with the Driving Assistant Professional package that bundles features like autonomous emergency braking, lane centering assist, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control with stop-go, evasive steering assist and acoustic warning for pedestrians.
