Following the “Edition 55” based on the G-Class, Mercedes-Benz has revealed the “Edition 55” versions of the A 35 AMG 4MATIC – the hatchback, the sedan, the CLA, and the CLA Shooting Brake – to celebrate 55 years of AMG. Strangely, they’ve only shared images of the hatchback.
The exterior of an “Edition 55” can be instantly recognisable with the decals across the door, but the rest of the car appears similar to the standard AMG A 35.
With the AMG Night Package, the front splitter and canards, window surround, and other trims such as the bumper inserts are finished in High Gloss Black while the 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels are finished in Matte Titanium Grey paint. Other distinguishing features of the “Edition 55” models are the exclusive Cosmos Black metallic or Digital White metallic exterior paint colours.
Inside, the “Edition 55” stands out with a Red and Black cabin furnished with AMG Performance seats and an AMG Performance steering wheel. Further “Edition 55” specific trims include AMG floor mats and illuminated door sills.
The Mercedes-AMG A 35 models are powered by the M260 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired to an AMG Speedshift dual-clutch gearbox with 306 hp, 400 Nm, and all-wheel drive capabilities. 0 to 100 km/h takes under five seconds.
The AMG A 35 models can be specified with the “Edition 55” package at the cost of 12,614 Euros (approx. RM58,606).
