Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 Shooting Brake is an AMG we may never get

It’s true that Mercedes-AMG will fiddle with any Benz they can get their hands on. Their latest creation, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC Shooting Brake. Although, we won’t be able to get our hands on one because Malaysians favour SUVs over Shooting Brakes/Wagon/Estates.

Motivated by the uprated M260 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 306 hp and 400 Nm, the CLA 35 Shooting Brake is the fastest and most versatile (505 litres of boot space) Compact Car to date. That is until the CLA 45 S debuts with the 416 hp and 500 Nm M139 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine.

A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and AMG Performance 4MATIC fully variable all-wheel-drive system allows the CLA 35 Shooting Brake to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, identical to the CLA 35 Coupe. Like the Coupe, the Shooting Brake also gets 5 AMG Dynamic Select drive programs – Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual.

The standard AMG exhaust system has an exhaust flap that alters the tone ranging from discreet to antisocial depending on the drive modes selected. AMG Ride Control adaptive dampers and AMG Track pace data logger are however optional items.

Other personalisation items include the AMG Aerodynamics Package, AMG Night Package, 19-inch AMG alloy wheels in various design, two-tone AMG Leather interior package, AMG Performance Seats and AMG Performance Steering wheel in different finishes.
