Mitsubishi to bring back Ralliart name – releases first teaser image

The Ralliart name has not been mentioned as Mitsubishi’s performance and motorsport division for more than a decade but all that’s about to change.

After announcing its return in May this year, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan has revealed a teaser of EV kei car concept and a Ralliart concept car. The pair will be fully revealed at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2022 which will be held on the 14th till 16th of January 2022.

According to Mitsubishi, the kei EV concept is a new generation of all-electric kei cars that are built around safety, security, comfort, and environmental-friendliness. It combines the practicality of a kei-car with the smooth performance of an EV while offering advanced driver assistance systems and connectivity.

On the other hand, the Ralliart concept car brings together Mitsubishi Motors’ engineering and passion for Monozukuri (craftsmanship) challenges. It exudes a premium feel with a strong presence, indicating Mitsubishi’s vision for the new Ralliart.

The return of Ralliart name will not only see new custom-made accessories for Mitsubishi’s model line up but also the company re-entering motorsports with it, according to Mitsubishi CEO, Takao Kato.

In Thailand, Mitsubishi has wasted no time celebrating the return of the iconic name with the launch of two special editions; the Triton and Pajero Sport Ralliart Edition.

The special edition models are fitted with blacked-out wheels, wing mirror covers and door handles along with red mud flaps. Other additions include Ralliart bumper trims, decals, and Ralliart floor mats for the interior.
