Mercedes-Benz EQE electric sedan to be launched in September!

Mercedes-Benz will be launching its next full-sized electric vehicle (EV) at this year’s IAA Mobility motor show in Munich. The Mercedes-Benz EQE is the brand’s answer to a sporty and comfortable electric executive sedan.

Similar to the larger EQS, the EQE will be based on the new dedicated Mercedes-Benz Electric Architecture (MB.EA) platform.

In the lone teaser image of the exterior, the general shape of the EQE shares many similarities with the large EQS, such as the ellipse-shaped window line and short boot lid, all for the purpose of slicing through the air as smoothly as possible for the best driving range.

The image of the interior meanwhile shows a dashboard that is also similar to the EQS with the Hyperscreen fully-digital setup. Apart from the Mercedes-Benz EQE debut, the company will also be unveiling the first battery-electric luxury sedan from Mercedes-AMG as well as a concept vehicle from Mercedes-Maybach.

There will also be SUV variants of both the EQS and EQE models which will be unveiled at a later date. The IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich will open its doors to the public from September 7th to 12th and is perhaps the largest global motor show to be held following last year’s postponement.

The traditional motor show format will also change with this edition of the IAA, with a stronger focus on mobility and interactions not just confined in a large exhibition hall but is extended to parks and squares, where the general public gather.
