Nissan Thailand spices up the Almera with a sporty Autech bodykit

Nissan Thailand has revealed the new Almera Sportech with a striking new body kit from Autech, a company known for tuning Nissan vehicles in Japan.

Just to be clear, the kit is not just an add-on but consists of completely new front and rear bumpers. The Autech body kit also comes with a new front grille design.

The all-new Nissan Almera Turbo is a real step up from the previous generation model. Find out why in our review here!

On the front bumper, the fog light housing is now significantly larger; not only housing the fog light but also comes with what looks like air vents – possibly to cool the brakes.

The front bumper also comes with an additional splitter while the number plate section has been designed differently, with a larger opening.

Here’s what the Almera Turbo shares with its more powerful sibling, the mighty Nissan GT-R! Watch the video here!

Unlike the body coloured side mirrors seen on the Malaysian-spec Almera, the Autech gets side mirror caps with a silver finish. At the back, instead of rear diffusers as seen on our local Almera, the Autech rear bumper offers a cleaner look.

The new Almera Turbo, as it is known here in Malaysia, is now powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder with a 100 hp and 152 Nm to drive the front wheels via a CVT gearbox.

One of the unique features of the Almera’s 3-cylinder engine is that it shares the same technology as the mighty Nissan GT-R. Watch our video as we explain what it is, and how it works!
