Video: Ford Ranger Raptor X launched, 5 Things

Ford has just launched the new Ford Ranger Raptor X with a glaring new colour that’s so red, it’s like Chinese New Year all over again. The pre-Covid Chinese New Year that is.

It’s called True Red and will be exclusively available for the Ranger Raptor X, along with a splash of decals on its tailgate. As for the actual features on the outside, everything remains unchanged from the previous update in April last year. For a closer look at the Raptor, check out our gallery here.

Interestingly, the red theme was not reflected inside the cabin of the Ranger Raptor X as the sports seats are still finished with blue stitching as seen in the Ranger Raptors with the infamous Performance Blue paintjob.

Additions to cabin have been less striking than the exterior, with items such as the Raptor X floor mats, Kenwood dashcams for the front and rear, along with a 360-degree surround view monitor.

There are no changes to performance with the 2.0-litre bi-turbo engine soldiering on with the 10-speed automatic gearbox. The powertrain makes 213 hp and 500 Nm.

As for safety, owners can now rely on the Raptor’s forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, as well as lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist.

The Ranger Raptor X will set you back RM216,888 on-the-road without insurance, where every purchase is accompanied by a 5-year/160,000km (whichever comes first) manufacturer’s warranty.
