Video: Mitsubishi Xpander facelift, 5 Things

The Mitsubishi Xpander has finally arrived in Malaysia and is available in a single variant. Priced at RM91,359 inclusive of SST exemption, the total bookings Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has received so far has exceeded the total production capacity until December 2020. In the first two weeks since bookings were opened, MMM received 2,000 orders for the crossover.

The 7-seater facelift Xpander is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, with 105 hp and 141 Nm of torque. The naturally-aspirated powertrain sends power to the front wheels via a four-speed automatic gearbox.

The locally-assembled Xpander is one of the better-equipped examples in the region with the addition of a surround-view monitor, and a larger touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a forward-facing camera that not only serves as a dashcam but works in sync with the surround-view monitor to offer a front view of the vehicle on the infotainment display.

Aside from offering best-in-class headroom and cabin space, the facelift Xpander also comes with an abundance of storage spaces; from the compartments behind the front seats, under-seat storage, and even under the boot floor.

The Xpander promises a refined ride as well as it has been fitted with front and rear windows which are thicker than industry standards. The cabin has also been padded with thicker headlining and floor carpets. The Xpander also features roof-mounted air-con vents in the second row.
