Sime Darby Auto Selection partners with MyTukar to expand used car operation

Sime Darby Motors’ pre-owned cars subsidiary, Sime Darby Auto Selection (SDAS), have signed on an exclusive partnership deal with online car bidding platform MyTukar to “revolutionise the pre-owned car trading experience for customers”.

The collaboration will see SDAS expand their network nationwide, giving them access to a wider procurement grid, as well as an online used car transaction database which would provide transparency and improved accuracy on actual market transactions.

“The digitalised process that MyTukar provides ensures that our customers will receive the highest trade-in value, through a seamless and transparent experience for peace of mind in selling their cars and buying used cars,” said Sime Darby Motors, Managing Director Retail and Distribution Malaysia, Jeffrey Gan.

The collaboration with MyTukar is also expected to enhance SDAS’ management of its inventory by anchoring on MyTukar’s proprietary big data analytics of used car transactions.

MyTukar, CEO, Fong Hon Sum said, “MyTukar is excited to begin this journey with Sime Darby Auto Selection and we welcome their inspectors onto MyTukar’s technology-enabled platform. I strongly believe that this partnership will reinforce our mutual vision of giving customers a seamless and transparent process of purchasing and selling their cars.”

SDAS began as a certified BMW Premium Selection dealer and has since grown to a multi-brand dealer for pre-owned vehicles, with three branches in Klang Valley and one in Johor Bahru.

MyTukar also recently partnered with CapBay to offer a new financing programme to support their 1,900 authorised dealerships in reducing financial impact and business risks during these challenging times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
