MINI Malaysia has unveiled a new limited edition version of the MINI Cooper SE launched last month. Dubbed the MINI Electric First Edition, the 15-unit-only limited edition model is priced at RM238,380.78, on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of the sales tax exemptions effective until the end of 2020.

Priced RM20,000 above the regular MINI Cooper SE, the First Edition gets an all-new MINI Yours Enigmatic Black exterior colour (in addition to White Silver), panoramic glass sun roof, First Edition door sill and side scuttles bearing “one in fifteen” script, as well as anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors.

On the inside, the MINI Electric First Edition gets MINI Yours Walknappa Leather Lounge upholstery on the seats with the Union Jack motif on the headrests, along with a Walknappa Leather Lounge steering wheel.

Otherwise, the First Edition is identical to the Cooper SE, including its powertrain which is a single front-mounted electric motor paired to a single-speed transmission, sending 184 hp and 270 Nm of torque to the front wheels. 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.3 seconds, onward to a electronically-limited top speed of 150 km/h.

Electric juice is provided by the same 28.9 kWh battery, offering an electric driving range of 234 km on a full charge, based on the WLTP cycle. To top up the battery, the 11 kW standard three-pin cable provided with the car charges from 0-80% in 12 hours, while the MINI Wallbox Plus three-phase 22 kW charger tops it up in 3.5 hours (2.5 hours to 80%).

Interior equipment list is also identical, including the8.8-inch touchscreen MINI Visual Boost with MINI Connected and Apple CarPlay connectivity, 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 12-colour LED ambient lighting, 5.5-inch digital instrument display, and dual-zone climate control.

These include functions such as the autonomous emergency braking for city driving, Cruise Control with Braking Function, Park Distance Control (Front and Rear), Park Assistant, and Approach Control Warning.
