Volkswagen launches Shopee official store, exclusive 7.7 Mid Year Sale deals on offer

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) continues their digital onslaught with the launch of the the VPCM official store on Shopee. In conjunction with the online shopping platform’s upcoming 7.7 Mid Year Sale event, VPCM will also be offering exclusive deals for cars booked via Shopee starting now until the 7th of July.

During the promotional period, customers can book a Volkswagen model on the official Shopee store at just RM199, and enjoy rewards ranging from RM4,279 to RM14,819 depending on the model selected. These rewards include exclusive online deals and rebates, free home delivery (within 20 km radius from dealership), free deep sanitisation package worth RM150.

Seven lucky customers who purchase a Volkswagen vehicle through the official store on Shopee will stand a chance to win RM700 Shopee vouchers.

The first 10 customers will receive a free Volkswagen Lego Campervan worth RM499. Additionally, seven lucky customers who purchase a Volkswagen vehicle through the official store on Shopee during the promotional period will also stand a chance to take home a RM700 Shopee voucher.

VPCM says that the launch of the Shopee official store is in line with the brand’s new ‘digital-first’ principle. The new Shopee store will offer the brand’s full line-up of models in Malaysia, and together with VPCM’s own eShowroom, act as a convenient alternative to brick-and-mortar showrooms as Malaysians embrace the new normal post COVID-19.

The recently-launched limited-edition United Series is also available on VPCM’s Shopee official store.

VPCM was the first car brand in Malaysia to retail their vehicles on e-commerce platforms. Back in 2017, the firm partnered with Lazada to offer 12 units of the Volkswagen Beetle exclusively on the online shopping marketplace. The Lazada store still remains operational today, though obviously this promotion will be exclusive to the new Shopee official store.

VPCM Managing Director, Erik Winter said, “We have achieved great success with our digital and e-commerce initiatives and being present on Shopee was the next natural step for us. This partnership with Shopee leverages on their digital expertise and platform to connect with our customers whilst offering them irresistible deals in conjunction with Shopee’s 7.7 Mid-Year Sale.”

Shopee Regional Managing Director, Ian Ho added, “[The partnership] comes just at the right time following the recent announcement by the Government on the sales tax exemption on imported and locally assembled cars.” The revised Volkswagen price list following the government’s announcement sees the car prices reduced by up to RM9,485.

“We look forward to strategic partnerships such as this one with Volkswagen which provides an avenue for brands to go online for the benefit of Malaysians as we begin on this journey to recovery.”
