Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today introduced the new ‘United’ series of limited-edition variants for the Volkswagen Passat and Tiguan. No, it has nothing to do with the prominent football club from Manchester; the ‘United’ series “celebrates the strength of unity, a trait deeply embedded in the Volkswagen brand”, according to VW.
The limited-edition model equips the existing models with additional exclusive accessories worth RM12,000 on the Passat, and RM4,000 on the Tiguan.
On the Passat, these include:
- New 19-inch Verona alloy wheels
- Aluminium sports pedals
- Aluminium scuff plates
- LED projection door lights (Volkswagen Logo)
- VW Tint
- ‘UNITED’ emblem
Meanwhile, the Tiguan gains the following additional kit:
- Front sports bumper
- Rear spoiler
- Chrome trunk garnish
- Load lip protector
- Chrome exhaust tip
- VW tint
- ‘UNITED’ emblem
Additionally, both models in the ‘United’ series also get dynamic wheel hub caps with a self-levelling logo – à la Rolls Royce style – that stays upright while the car is on the move.
The Passat United is priced at RM193,856, while the Tiguan United is priced at RM166,108. The prices listed are sales tax exempted, which will be effective until the 31st of December 2020.
VPCM Managing Director, Erik Winter said, “While there is a connection between our United range and Volkswagen’s involvement in football, the significance of the name and what it represents could not be more relevant today, with the challenges we are facing. Additionally, a core principle of the Volkswagen brand is #wenotme, which emphasises on unity and togetherness.”
Customers interested in the new limited-edition United series can take advantage of the upcoming Volkswagen Virtual Raya Open House, taking place this weekend on the 13th and 14th June 2020. Dealerships nationwide will be hosting the event on their respective social media channels, with an additional RM1,000 rebate up for grabs on any Volkswagen models booked over the two days.
Both the Passat and Tiguan United are also eligible in Volkswagen’s ongoing promotions – six months free instalment for all purchases of the Tiguan before 30th June, as well as one-year free insurance for the Passat. Customers located within 20 km of their preferred VW dealership can also benefit from free delivery of their new cars, right to their doorstep.
