Toyota C-HR “Karl Lagerfeld Edition” brings high fashion to the masses

If you thought high fashioned and the masses don’t go hand in hand, then Toyota Motor Thailand has proven you wrong with this limited edition C-HR with fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld’s name slapped on it. Finally, there’s now 200 units of a Toyota worthy of a teenage girl’s wet dream.

Priced at 1.2 million Thai Baht (approx. RM159k), the limited edition model is draped in “special materials” both inside and out in a “unique collaboration to embark on radical design revolution by integrating the science of automotive technology with the art of fashion”.

The deal is also sweetened by a set of limited edition merchandise made up of a luggage, handbag, cap and keychain said to be worth 50,000 Thai Baht (approx. RM6,600).

On the outside, the Karl Lagerfeld edition C-HR gets a roof, side mirrors, side skirts, front bumper and rear spoiler in Pearl White. And that white strip that runs along the side of the car with Karl Lagerfeld’s logo at the end of it, well, sorry to disappoint you but it’s merely a wrap. Topping the exterior off are 17-inch wheels in gloss back.

Step inside and you’d immediately be greeted with a two-tone dashboard with yet another repetition of the fashion designer’s name on it and in case you forget how it’s spelt, there’s more to remind you on the leather seats and scuff plates.

Karl Lagerfeld CEO, Mr. Pier Paolo Righi said, “It is extremely surprising that the design of Toyota C-HR can blend seamlessly with Karl Lagerfeld’s identity. Shades of black and white have been artfully expressed in the car as we call it ‘Parisian Rock Chic’ style, which provides beyond the illustration of beauty.”
