As the Movement Control Order (MCO) has been extended till the 14th of April, we will all be stuck at home for at least another two more weeks. While it is for the good of the country and other Malaysians (please do stay at home), the MCO does sometimes interfere with significant matters such as buying your dream car.
Well, if your dream car is a Ford, fret no more. Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford vehicles in Malaysia, today introduced its ‘Digital Salesperson’, a dedicated WhatsApp live chat line to address customers queries related to vehicle purchase.
As all Ford showrooms and service centres are temporarily closed during the MCO period, the Digital Salesperson bridges the gap by linking customers to a authorised Ford salesperson located nearest to them.
Once connected, the salesperson is able to provide information on in-showroom promotions, colour and stock availability, loan financing options, road tax and vehicle registration fees, as well as insurance options.
Additionally, customers will also be able to pay for the deposit of a car purchase at their own convenience. Once the MCO is lifted, customers can sign the retail customer order and loan documents in person to be processed.

The Digital Salesperson service will not be limited to just the MCO period either. SDAC Managing Director, Syed Ahmad Muzri Syed Faiz said, “Post the Movement Control Order, we will continue to offer this alternative method, as we care and understand that customers may still want to limit public exposure.”
The campaign will run from today until the 30th of June, but Ford says that it can be extended depending on demand. The Digital Salesperson is available from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Queries can be sent via WhatsApp to +6019-204 1200, and will be answered within 24 hours.
