UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT), distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Malaysia has announced a Special Service Campaign (SSC) to replace the fuel pump on certain units of Toyota and Lexus models.

The vehicles involved in this SSC include models manufactured from 2013 to 2019. Based on information provided by Toyota Motor Corporation, approximately 12,000 Toyota and 1,500 Lexus vehicles distributed by UMWT are affected in this SSC.

Toyota models affected by the recall:
– Alphard
– Camry
– Corolla
– Innova
– Fortuner

Lexus models affected by the recall:
– GS300, GS350
– IS300
– LC500/500H
– LS460, LS500/500H, LS600H
– NX200T/300H
– RC350/300H
– RX350/450H, RX350/450

The vehicles listed in the list are equipped with a fuel pump that may stop operating, resulting in a vehicle to be unable to start or stall during operation. This scenario could increase the risk of a crash while driving at higher speed.

An official notice will be given to the affected vehicle owners by UMW Toyota. All replacement work will be completely free of charge.

For further information, owners of affected cars may contact any authorised Toyota Service Centre or call the Toyota Freephone at 1800-8-TOYOTA (869682).
