At long last, Honda Malaysia has announced that the 10th-generation Honda Accord is now open for booking, at all 100 Honda dealerships nationwide. The all-new Honda Accord is set to be launched in Q1 2020.
First introduced in 2001, the Honda Accord has sold more than 84,100 units to-date. With the new 10th-generation Honda Accord, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and CEO Toichi Ishiyama said, “The much-anticipated All-New Accord is set to move the yardstick for next generation sedans with its unmatched performance, stylish and premium design as well as cutting-edge technology and safety features.”

In terms of styling, the all-new Honda Accord has incorporated the fastback body shape for a more modern appearance. The wider stance is paired with a lower hood, as well as a low-slung roofline to achieve greater road presence.
The all-new Honda Accord comes equipped with full-LED headlights and taillights, with a slight resemblance to the Honda Civic. At the rear, the Accord also sports a twin tailpipe finished in chrome – none of those fake exhaust “holes”. Completing the sporty appearance is the standard 18-inch alloys.
Under the hood, the all-new Honda Accord is powered by a new 1.5-litre turbocharged VTEC engine, a first for the D-segment model. The turbocharged mill churns out 201 hp and 260 Nm of torque, which Honda says is more powerful than a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated engine.
As standard, the 10th-generation Honda Accord comes with six airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), front and rear parking sensors together with Multi-angle Rearview Camera.

Honda has also equipped the latest D-segment sedan with the full suite of Honda Sensing advanced driver assistance features (first introduced locally in the 2017 Honda Accord), which includes eight features in three categories:
Driver Cruising Aid
– Adaptive Cruise Control
– Low Speed Follow
– Auto High-Beam
Frontal Collision Deterrence
– Forward Collision Warning
– Collision Mitigation Braking System
Side Collision Deterrence
– Lane Keep Assist System
– Road Departure Mitigation
– Lane Departure Warning

The 10th-generation Honda Accord will be locally-assembled in Honda Malaysia’s Pagoh plant, making it the sole Japanese D-segment sedan to be assembled in Malaysia.
Pricing information and other features will only be announced during the launch. At the meantime, here’s a video from Honda Thailand to give you an idea of what might be included in the localised version of the 10th-generation Honda Accord.
