Geely mobilise global resources in support of battle against CoronaVirus



Geely Holding Group along with the Li Shufu Public Welfare Foundation are setting up 200 million RMB fund (that’s around US$ 28.38 million) to support the prevention and control of the Coronavirus epidemic in Chinese provinces experiencing the coronavirus outbreak.

The Li Shufu Public Welfare Foundation, established by Geely Holding founder, will purchase and distribute urgently needed medical supplies including masks, disinfectants, medical goggles, and ventilators. The fund will also support the construction of temporary hospitals in affected areas.

In addition, brands under Geely Holding including Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Volvo, Polestar, Geometry, Lotus, Farizon Auto, etc. will pool resources with the Li Shufu Public Welfare Foundation in fighting the epidemic, including leveraging on the group’s global footprint and logistics; one instance being the procurement of 250,000 medical masks in Sweden which will be distributed to affected areas within China.

Geely Auto will donate fifty MPVs to the Wuhan New Coronavirus Prevention and Control Command Centre for their transportation needs, while CaoCao, Geely’s ride hailing service has set up an emergency fleet within the Wuhan area to provide free mobility services for local residents.

Geely Holding is also encouraging all China-based subsidiaries to adjust their working hours, avoid major public transport routes and opt to work online.
