Yes, you’re definitely seeing more Ford Ranger pick-ups on the road

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) enjoyed strong sales performance in the third quarter of the year, in particular with the Ford Ranger pick-up truck.

Achieving a 12% retail sales increase compared to the previous quarter, the Ford Ranger continues to prove its popularity in the Malaysian market. The solid sales also helped the pick-up truck gain 1.5% in market share, up to 16.2% in the pick-up segment.

Available in seven variants, the Ford Ranger is powered by three different engines – 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbodiesel, 2.0-litre 4-cylinder single-turbodiesel, and 2.0-litre 4 cylinder bi-turbodiesel.

Under the hood of the XL and XLT variants is the 2.2-litre oil burner, producing 160 hp and 385 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox in both automatic and manual variants.

The XLT+ and Wildtrak 4×2 variants gets the 2.0-litre single-turbodiesel engine that pushes out 180 hp and 420 Nm, paired to a first-in-class 10-speed automatic transmission. The top of the line Wildtrak 4×4 gains an additional turbocharger to push out best-in-class outputs of 213 hp and 500 Nm

Also available in performance form, the Ranger Raptor shares the same EcoBoost engine with the Wildtrak 4×4 variant, while getting a performance-focused Fox Racing Shox dampers for better off-road capabilities.
