Launched simultaneously with the new 2019 Lexus RX is the new 2019 Lexus ES250; now available in two variants – Premium at RM299,888 and Luxury at RM332,888.
Under the hood is a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine with 204 hp and 247 Nm, paired to an 8-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission. Under its skin, the ES Luxury’s handling is further enhanced with performance dampers.
0 to 100 km/h takes 9.1 seconds with top speed rated at 210 km/h. The all-new Lexus ES’ fuel consumption is rated at 15km/L.
On the outside, the ES Luxury is equipped with Ultra Compact 3-beam LED projectors with Adaptive High Beam System and sequential turn signals while the Premium variant makes do with Bi-LED projector units and bulb type signals.
The Luxury variant also stands out with a hands-free boot. Both models come with cornering lights, a moonroof and a Blind Spot Monitor.
Inside, both variants have been lined with a mix of wood and leather trims, paddle shifters, 7-inch TFT display, Pioneer 10-speaker sound system, seat ventilation and an electronic parking brake.
The Luxury model stands out with a 3-zone air conditioning system, rear sunshades, 12.3-inch touchscreen display, heads up display, wireless charging, 10-way power adjustable for the front seats and 2-way reclining rear seats.
The Premium model on the other hand gets dual zone air conditioning, an 8-inch touchscreen display and 8-way power adjustable front seats.
Safety wise, the both the ES 250 variants get Lexus Safety System+ which includes the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist with steering control and Pre Collision System. While both models may get 10 airbags, only the Luxury variant gets a panoramic view monitor.
