Sportscar Together Day sets new Porsche record in Malaysia

It was as usual another stifling hot day at the Sepang circuit last Saturday, but Porsche owners pulled together to set a new Malaysian record for the largest Porsche gathering ever with a tidy total of 320 cars, as verified by the Malaysia Book of Records.

More than 2,000 Porsche enthusiasts and fans of all ages turned out in strength for Sime Darby Auto Performance’s inaugural Sportscar Together Day held on 3rd August 2019, and they witnessed eight generations of the 911, 911 GT3 Cup race cars and even the Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid up close, while children in tow also got some indoor track time courtesy of the Porsche Junior Experience programme.

Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance, said, “Celebrating our first ‘Sportscar Together Day’ in Malaysia is a momentous occasion for us. We are thrilled to be able to share the experience of driving a Porsche with more people than ever before, or even for new enthusiasts to start their journey with Porsche with the introduction of our new 360 Leasing programme.”

Aside from introducing a leasing programme for Porsche, applicable to both private and corporate customers, Hunter also unveiled the new Macan S SUV.
