New red pearl colour option for Honda CR-V, City and Jazz

In a bid to spruce up the appeal of its core models – the CR-V (15%), City (34%) and Jazz (12%) which collectively accounts for 62% of Honda Malaysia’s total sales volume, these three popular models now come with the ‘Passion Red Pearl’ colour option, first seen on the facelifted HR-V.

While it’s a bit late for Chinese New Year, Honda Malaysia says that Passion Red Pearl is the preferred exterior colour with 30% of all HR-V customers picking this hue. With an all-new Jazz expected at the Tokyo motor show later this year, Honda Malaysia is probably hoping that the colour’s popularity would rub off on its aging but still excellent B-hatch, as well as on the CR-V and City, all of which are battling against newer competitor models.

Expect to see more red CR-Vs on the road soon?

Honda Malaysia also took the opportunity in the press release to restate its market share position behind Perodua in terms of sales volume over the period of January to April this year, this follows Proton’s steady revival as second best-selling brand for the month of April. Not sure whether chest-thumping actually helps sell more cars, but the battle for the number #2 spot is one to look out for in 2019.
