Bridgestone to replace damaged tyres under hazard warranty programme

Potholes – not only do they cause damage to tyres, but the subsequent impact is usually more severe, which is on our wallets. The folks at Bridgestone Tyre Sales (Malaysia) must have felt our pain, so they are now offering the Bridgestone Hazard Warranty Programme (HWP).

Here’s how it works; effective 1st April 2019, all Bridgestone branded passenger car, MPV, SUV, 4×4 (H/T, H/P & H/L) tyres measuring 17-inch and above (distributed by Bridgestone Tyre Sales (Malaysia) and purchased from participating Bridgestone dealers in Peninsular Malaysia will be covered by the hazard warranty.

Not sure if rubber ducks count as hazard, but if they damage your Bridgestone tyres within 6 months of purchase, you are covered.

If any of the aforementioned tyres are damaged by road hazards (which include potholes, accidental kerbing, punctures, etc.) Bridgestone will replace the damaged tyre for free under the HWP, which covers new tyres over a period of six months from the date of invoice.

“Bridgestone Hazard Warranty Programme is a value-added programme aside from the existing Bridgestone standard tyre warranty. HWP provides 1-for-1 tyre replacement at no charge for tyre damage that is beyond repair caused by road hazards.” said Mr. Yuichiro Shirai, the Managing Director of Bridgestone Tyre Sales (Malaysia).

Do note that All-Terrain (A/T) and Mud-Terrain (M/T) tyres are excluded from HWP as they usually operate in the roughest of environments and are susceptible to damage. If you had new Bridgestone rubber fitted to your car recently, the warranty programme can be registered online, but it must done within 14 days of the date of invoice.
