The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is simply a jaw-dropping piece of sculpture!

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur has just lifted the veil on the jaw-dropping DBS Superleggera – the marque’s new flagship supercar.

Underneath the carbon fibre front hood is a 5.2-litre quad cam twin-turbo V12 making 725 hp and 900 Nm of torque with power going only to the rear wheels via a carbon fibre drive shaft and an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Name  Aston Martin DBS Superleggera
Engine 5.2-litre Quad cam twin-turbo V12
Transmission 8-speed ZF automatic
Max Power 725 hp @ 6,500 rpm
Max Torque 900 Nm @ 1,800-5,000 rpm
0 – 100 km/h; Top Speed 3.4 seconds; 340 km/h
Price From RM1.2 million (before duties and options)

With all that power, 0 to 100 km/h is done in just 3.4 seconds, onward to a spellbinding top speed of 340 km/h. A meatier mid-range also means 80-160 km/h is done in just four seconds.

The body of the car is a nothing short of a piece of sculpture, penned to be as aerodynamic as possible. The massive front grille for example, has been designed to channel air from every angle into the engine compartment.

Even the C-pillars have been designed for air to flow through the rear bonnet and out through the rear spoiler. As a result, the DBS Superleggera is able to generate up to 180kg of downforce at full speed – that’s like having a superbike resting on the car’s rear end – for maximum traction.

Behind those 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tyres are 6-pot caliper brakes in the front, supported by a 4-pot pair at the back. The surface of the Brembo carbon ceramic discs have been engineered to eliminate the squeaks associated with carbon ceramic discs before they warm up.

The DBS Superleggera sits on an Adaptive Damping System that works hand in hand with the Super GT’s drive modes – GT, Sport and Sport Plus. Surrounding the dampers are double wishbones in the front and a multi-link setup at the back.

Inside, the DBS Superleggera gets treated to a flat-bottom steering wheel, a mix of Caithless leather and Alcantara, Aston Martin’s Premium Audio System, DBS-embroided sports seats, a 360-degree camera and an 8-inch LCD display.

The DBS Superleggera’s comprehensive list of safety systems and driver aids include Dynamic Torque Vectoring, Positive Torque Control, Traction Control and Dynamic Stability Control.

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera starts from RM1.205 million before duties and options.
